Curlew Cruises FAQ’s

What if the weather is not good for sailing on the day we select? We have set aside reservations for Friday, Saturday and Sunday for sailing. You will have the flexibility to chose a Friday or Saturday sunset sail or a Saturday or Sunday mid-day sail. If the sail is cancelled due to conditions, you can either receive credit towards a future cruise, or a full refund. We will try our best to accommodate your group on the same weekend, if possible. Where do you sail? We sail out the Harraseeket River from South Freeport into Broad Sound, Middle Bay and the Casco Bay. Choose between a sail package to Chebeague Island, or to the Dolphin Marina and Restaurant, or go out for a sail where the wind takes us where it may, with no cares of meeting a schedule, except to depart and return on time. Is there alcohol allowed on board? Wine or alcohol with less than 7% percent alcohol is permitted. The affect of alcohol when on the water is similar to air travel, so restraint is encouraged. The captain reserves the right to flog guests who imbibe too liberally. Can guests bring their own snacks? Light snacks are provided, but guests may bring their own as well. Be considerate of the boat by not bringing small snacks that are easily spilled. Lobster or Crabmeat Rolls Should you want to turn the snacks into light dinners, lobster rolls can be ordered 24 hours in advance for the cost of $35 per lobster roll or $30 for crabmeat roll. The captain will provide chips to accompany. Should you want to bring your own meal, that works too. Can we smoke on board? No smoking nor vaping is permitted on board or on the docks. Where should we park? Due to very limited parking at Strouts’ Point and the Freeport Town Landing, there will be one parking space available, at Strouts’ Point, so carpooling is encouraged. You can pick up your parking pass for your windshield at the dock house. The boat departs from the dock at Strouts’ Point, promptly at the noted time. The address is 5 Wharf Road, South Freeport. What if we want to swim? Swimming off the boat is possible in the extended private cruises. We can anchor in a cove where you can swim off the boat. There is a stable, over the side s/s ladder to use to enter and exit the water. How do I book a cruise? Cruises will begin on Friday, June 13 and be available for most Fridays or Saturdays until Saturday, October 11th.  Sign up on line on the SHOP tab. Or …
